Requirements

General Requirement for All EHP Students

Every EHP student must complete a satisfactory Junior-Level ePortfolio by the Spring of their 3rd year. To graduate with honors, all students must choose one of the following options for their 4th year:

Senior-Thesis + Junior-Level ePortfolio

Any EHP student who does a senior thesis is only required to do the Junior-Level ePortfolio.

Non-Senior Thesis Option: Senior-Level ePortfolio

All EHP students who do not complete a senior thesis must do a Senior-Level ePortfolio.
 

Requirements for the Junior-Level ePortfolio

Of the above mentioned categories, the Junior-Level ePortfolio must include:

• Statement of Professional Purpose (minimum 3 pages) 

• Special Coursework (at least 1 sample of especially difficult, educational or noteworthy work done for a course) 

• Design Projects (at least one 5 page description, including photographs, of a design project that emerged either from a class or one’s own initiative) 

• Philosophy of Education (minimum of 5 pages articulating how a student has approached her/his education) 

• Writing Samples (minimum of 1 writing samples) 

• Professional Resume 

And at least 2 of the following (for at least two of the following categories, students must write 3 page descriptions of their involvement):

• Service 

• Leadership 

• Research 

• International Experience 

• Creative Work 

• Internships 

• Special Initiatives 

• Other 

The Junior-Level ePortfolio must be completed and submitted to the EHP Program Assistant, via the ePortfolio Submission Form by the first day of classes following the end of Spring Break during your third year.  (Note: We are not yet enforcing a hard deadline, but please aim for around this time.)

Requirements for the Senior-Level ePortfolio

Of the above mentioned categories to be included on the basic template for the ePortfolio webpage, the following are required for everyone not doing an Honors Thesis:

• Statement of Professional Purpose (minimum 3 pages)

• Special Coursework (at least 3 samples of especially difficult, educational or noteworthy work done for a course)

• Design Projects (at least one 5 page description, including photographs, of a design project that emerged either from a class or one’s own initiative)

• Philosophy of Education (minimum of 5 pages articulating how a student has approached her/his education)

• Writing Samples (minimum of 2 writing samples)

• Senior Design Project/Thesis (if Senior Design Project, a 15 page description of the project including the role the student played, the fundamental questions/design problems/objectives and an analysis of the results)

• Professional Resume

And at least 2 of the following (for at least two of the following categories, students must write 3 page descriptions of their involvement):

• Service

• Leadership

• Research

• International Experience

• Creative Work

• Internships

• Special Initiatives

• Other
